If you’re planning a trip to Hong Kong and searching for that perfect blend of elegance, convenience, and world-class service, let us introduce you to one of our favorite stays of all time: the Kowloon Shangri-La Hong Kong.

This harborfront oasis was more than just a hotel stay—it was a full luxury travel experience. From the jaw-dropping views of Victoria Harbour, to the fresh fruit and tea service waiting in our room, every moment felt like a five-star retreat.

And the best part? We booked our hotel stay, private airport transfers, and incredible Hong Kong excursions all through Klook—our go-to platform for streamlining travel logistics. Whether you’re visiting as a couple, solo traveler, or family with kids, this guide will walk you through everything we loved about this hotel, how to get around (Uber-friendly!), and the must-do activities that made our stay unforgettable.

Arrival in Hong Kong: Book Your Private Airport Transfer via Klook

Let’s talk logistics—because after a long flight, the last thing you want to deal with is haggling with taxis or figuring out public transport with heavy luggage.

Using Klook’s Private Airport Pickup Service, we were greeted at Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) by a professional driver holding a sign with our name. In less than 30 minutes, we were comfortably on our way to Tsim Sha Tsui East, where the Kowloon Shangri-La is located.

👉 Pro Tip: You can book both arrival and departure airport transfers on Klook. The process is seamless and surprisingly affordable for the convenience.

And if you’d rather not rely on a car service for every trip, Uber is widely available in Hong Kong and offers a great alternative to taxis for zipping around the city.

First Impressions: The Lobby & Check-In

The lobby of Kowloon Shangri-La is grand and tranquil—exactly what you’d hope for after a long travel day. Soft live music from the lobby lounge floats through the air, and the staff are warm, efficient, and incredibly attentive.

We were upgraded to a Harbor View Room (pro tip: book early through Klook for access to exclusive promos), and our bags were sent up promptly while we sipped welcome tea and took in the polished surroundings.

We loved sitting in front of this window people-watching and decompressing after a long day of fun activies.

The Room: Victoria Harbour Views That Stop You in Your Tracks

Let’s be honest—the views alone are worth the stay.

From our floor-to-ceiling windows, we had an uninterrupted view of the stunning Victoria Harbour skyline. Every hour of the day offered something different: pastel sunrise hues, the energetic hustle of harbor ferries, and the sparkling night lights of Hong Kong Island’s skyline.

This isn’t the kind of view you get tired of. We’d find ourselves just sitting by the window with a cup of tea, soaking it all in.

Room Features That Make All the DifferenceWhile the view steals the show, the room amenities were just as thoughtful and indulgent:

Welcome Fruit & Daily Tea

Upon arrival, we were greeted with a beautiful platter of fresh seasonal fruit—a delightful and healthy welcome. And each afternoon, fresh tea and biscuits were delivered to the room, a Shangri-La tradition we quickly came to love.

Plush Robes & Slippers

After a long day of exploring, slipping into the thick, cozy bathrobes and slippers was pure bliss. These weren’t your average hotel robes—they were ultra-soft and felt like a warm hug.

Spa-Like Bathroom

The bathroom was spacious, lined with marble, and featured:
  • A deep soaking tub for long, relaxing baths
  • A separate rain shower with excellent water pressure
  • Premium toiletries
  • Oversized towels and excellent lighting.

Hidden Coffee & Tea Nook

One of our favorite design features was the hidden beverage station tucked behind polished wooden doors in the wardrobe area. Inside, we found:
  • A Nespresso machine and selection of pods
  • Hot / Cold water dispenser
  • High-end teas
  • Crystal glassware / mugs
  • Mini bar items for an additional cost
We loved this little coffee / tea nook that can be tucked away with a sliding panel.

We started every morning with a rich cup of coffee in bed while admiring the skyline, and ended the evenings with warm tea and soft jazz in the background.

Modern Italian dishes with fresh pasta, a curated wine list, and beautiful harbor views. Perfect for date night.

Café Kool (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Buffet Heaven)

One of the best breakfast buffets we’ve had in Asia. Think:

Lobby Lounge

We visited Kowloon Shangri-La during the holidays, and one of the most magical surprises of our stay was the “Moonlight Hours” evening tea experience at the Lobby Lounge. Starting at 6:30pm daily, the hotel transforms into a cozy retreat where Chinese desserts and savory Cantonese bites are elevated to luxury heights. Some of our favorite offerings included:
  • Hong Kong style rice rolls
  • Typhoon style chicken wings
  • Stewed peach resin with red dates, logan, Chinese honeylocust seeds.

Spa, Gym & Wellness

Though we didn’t book a spa treatment this time, the hotel offers:

  • Full-service spa and massage menu
  • Indoor swimming pool
  • Fitness center with harbor views
  • Steam room, sauna, and whirlpool bath

If you’re looking to pamper yourself after a full day of sightseeing, this is the perfect way to recharge.

Top Things to Do Near Kowloon Shangri-La (All Bookable on Klook)

We used Klook to pre-book all our Hong Kong activities, which saved us time and unlocked exclusive discounts. These were our top picks:

Getting Around Hong Kong (Uber-Friendly!)

Hong Kong is known for its ultra-efficient MTR system, but we also used Uber frequently—especially:

  • To/from attractions that weren’t MTR-adjacent
  • When we were too tired to walk or commute
  • For early morning airport transfer

Public buses and trams are also available, but Uber was our go-to for comfort, safety, and convenience.

Absolutely. While we visited as a couple, we saw plenty of families enjoying their stay.

Family perks include:

  • Spacious rooms with rollaway bed options

  • A quiet, upscale environment without feeling stuffy
